One Veteran One Dog
2 Saved
Save lives by reducing veteran suicide and canine euthanasia in our community.
About The Veteran
There are times a veteran needs a reason to go on, to get out of bed in the morning. Knowing there is a canine companion waiting to be fed, exercised and loved every day, gives many veterans a new leash on life.
The dog has the ability to calm and relax a veteran when feeling stressed or anxious.
Dogs do not judge. Instead, they provide unconditional love, support, and a feeling of safety for the veteran, knowing their companion is by their side.
About The Dog
A second chance to live. The Veteran provides food, shelter, love, and companionship the dog may have never experienced.
The dog relies on the Veteran 100% for everything from food and shelter to affection and playtime.
About The Team
In the military, there was always someone to watch your back, and you watch theirs in return.
As the Veteran returns home, there can be a sense of isolation and a loss of this bond between members. The bond between the Veteran and dog team can sometimes provide this sense of security.
The dog is a companion to the veteran, forming a team. We have seen a strong bond develop between the team helping the veteran in many ways such as allowing the veteran to be comfortable leaving his/her home with their canine companion.

How We Work
Pet Adoption Process
1
VETERAN
We discuss with the veteran the wants/needs of a canine companion and his/her ability to care for the rescued dog.
2
DOG
We match a rescued dog which has the ability to connect with the Veteran and form the bond needed to make a difference in the daily activities of the Veteran.
3
TEAM
We work with the Veteran and rescued dog to ensure a successful bond for both.
